The –22 PGA Tour was the th season of the PGA Tour, the main professional golf tour in the United States. It was also the 54th season since separating from the PGA of America, and the 16th edition of the FedEx Cup.

The Tour announced more than $ million in purse increases for the –22 season including:[1]

  • Increasing the FedEx Cup bonus pool (from $60 million to $75 million)
  • Doubling the regular season bonus pool, known as the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 (from $10 million to $20 million)
  • Increasing the Player Impact Program, which rewards players that drive fan engagement (from $40 million to $50 million)
  • Introducing the Play15 Bonus program, which rewards every player who makes at least 15 starts with $50,
  • Significant increases in the purses of limited-field events including increasing the Players Championship purse to $20 million

The PGA Championship was a professional golf tournament, held May 19–22 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was the th PGA Championship. This was the fifth PGA Championship at Southern Hills and its eighth major championship. The event was originally scheduled to be played at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey, but was moved to Southern Hills following the January 6 United States Capitol attack.[1][2]

Eligibility changes

The number of players competing in the FedEx Cup playoffs will be reduced from to The top 70 will compete at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the top 50 at the BMW Championship, and the top 30 at the Tour Championship. Even with the FedEx Cup changes, the eligibility for those who retain their PGA Tour cards will not change after the remainder of the season, with the top retaining full PGA Tour privileges and non-exempt players –th receiving conditional PGA Tour status.
