In August , Volvo presented a new 4-door car called the Volvo It represented the start of an entirely new car series which, until the mids, accounted for Volvo's volume models.

The styling of the was truly timeless and this is confirmed by the fact that the car in developed form was still being sold successfully in the mids. The characteristic features of this car included the large areas of glass and three side windows.

The was a very spacious car with a large luggage compartment. The Volvo also included many new safety features. In addition to the body with its energy-absorbing zones front and rear, there was a unique braking system in which both braking circuits comprised three wheels. Disc brakes were also used on all four wheels. The interior had no protruding parts and there were safety belts for the driver and front-seat passenger.

The car has some minor surface rust, some small dings and marks and a torn drivers’ seat. There are fitted plaid seat covers for the front seats. The car as a solid daily driver which can always be counted on to get you home. Starts right up every time. No smoke. You get lots of waves from other Volvo drivers.

History of the Volvo Car


With the recently discontinued PV, after 21 years of production, and an Amazon now in its 10th year, Volvo really needed a new model in the somewhat larger format. The Amazon har clearly showed that this type of car was a hit for Volvo. The car spent most of its life in the salt free north area of Sweden Arvidsjaur and Jokkmokk since new and until this year, when it was bought by Volvo enthusiast ended up further south.
The car is in a nice non-renovated original condition, colorful s orange with a beautiful orange color, striped orange-brown décor and the beefy bumpers. The car was repainted in the original color 15 years ago due to stone chips and sun-bleached surfaces. This paint is well made and still has a fine orange shiny finish. The car has been used very little in the last ten years due to age reasons, and its newly inspected/MOT and newly serviced.
